Seeking Marketers to host their services on our site!
I provide line/copy editing, book coaching, and support for self-publishing authors of inclusive romance, cozy mysteries, and children's books. I'm particularly interested in books featuring queer, disabled, and fat characters.
I graduated from Penn State University, where I aced the 400-level editing and proofreading class. I worked as a proofreader for a national advertising magazine for two years, then joined the staff of a group of local weekly newspapers, where I served as a feature writer, photographer, and copyeditor for 14 years. After taking classes in copyediting and developmental editing of fiction from the Editorial Arts Academy, I opened my freelance editorial business in February 2021.

I’m a certified editor with a deep love for romance, thrillers, and fantasy (though I work across all fiction genres). My approach is centered on collaboration, tailoring each edit to fit your unique needs as a writer. I know how vulnerable it can feel to have someone step into the world you've created, which is why every edit is a discussion, not just a correction. My goal is to empower you with explanations for each suggestion so you can make informed, confident decisions about your work.
When we work together, you’re not just getting an editor—you’re gaining a partner who’s invested in your story. I believe in keeping an open dialogue, offering regular updates, and providing actionable advice throughout the editing process. From our first conversation to the final, polished draft, I’m with you every step of the way.
What truly drives me is the opportunity to amplify underrepresented characters and marginalized voices. As an author myself, I understand how personal and important your story is, and I treat every manuscript with the utmost care and respect. Together, we’ll shape your story into something that truly reflects your vision and resonates with readers.

I am an editor and writer with over 20 years of experience and am passionate about helping writers and their writing grow and flourish. After beginning my career at Blackwell Publishing, over the past 16 years I have freelance edited books and articles for academic and independent authors in a wide range of fields, including art history, economics, health, law, literature, philosophy, public policy, and travel. I also founded and co-lead a writing group for emerging authors and have provided generative comments on over 120 creative writing pieces.
I love working collaboratively with writers to help them find and strengthen their voice and clearly express their ideas. I guide writers through the revision process with patience and attentiveness, providing generative, encouraging, and detailed comments on their work.
My specialties include humanities, social sciences, racial and social justice, poetry, memoir, and creative nonfiction.

I'm a passionate editor with over ten years of experience. My editorial approach grows out of my background as a university-level writing tutor, an international scholar, an agented writer, and an editor dedicated to staying up on current industry expectations and standards. As an active member of the Editorial Freelancer's Association (EFA) and the Society for Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), I continuously refine skills and knowledge that I love putting to use for the writers I work with.
My editing philosophy stems from a desire to support authors who want to grow in their craft and become better thinkers through the best editorial hospitality I can provide short of putting the kettle on and pulling my desk next to theirs.

Having written and traditionally published seven novels, I decided to work on the editorial side of the industry over three years ago. In that time, I have worked on over twenty manuscripts ranging from children's books to high fantasy to non-fiction works. I have worked with screenplays as well, understanding the nuances it takes to adapt from novel to script. Currently, I reside outside Orlando with my wife and two cats.
